Necromancer Wall is a climbing area in Nevada's Rainbow Mountain Wilderness, managed by the Bureau of Land Management's Red Rock/Sloan Field Office. It sits within the wilderness, about 0.1 mile from the Frigid Air Buttress and the Smears for Fears Area, and the Cauldron Wall is just as close. The area has seven trad routes, with grades ranging from 5.6 to 5.10-. The easiest is One More For Jules! at 5.6, and the hardest is Black Magic Panties at 5.10-. The Hop Route, at 5.7+, was first climbed by Dave Hop and others in 1975. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 80°F and October highs around 75°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. That station sits about 767 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the wall run cooler. Red Rock Canyon Campground is about 6 miles away.
