Mustang Wall is a climbing area in Nevada's Rainbow Mountain Wilderness, managed by the Bureau of Land Management's Red Rock/Sloan Field Office. It sits within the wilderness, about 0.3 to 0.5 miles from several other climbing areas, including Monument Boulders, Mustang Canyon and The Monument. The climbing here is all trad, with six routes ranging from 5.10+ to 5.12-. Burros Gone Wild is 5.10+, Mustang Cracks is 5.10d, and Pegasus is 5.12a. The Dragon and Mustang Corner fall in the 5.11 range, and The Rube Goldberg is 5.12-. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 80°F and October highs around 75°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. That station sits about 950 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the wall run cooler. Red Rock Canyon Campground is about 7.4 miles away.
