Mud Spring Wing is a climbing area in the Rainbow Mountain Wilderness in Nevada, on land managed by the Bureau of Land Management's Red Rock/Sloan Field Office. The surrounding area is part of the wilderness, so the BLM is the land manager here. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 80°F with lows near 56°F, and October highs around 75°F with lows near 50°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up high run a little cooler.
