First Creek Canyon is a climbing area in Nevada's Rainbow Mountain Wilderness, within the Red Rock/Sloan Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management. It sits in a cluster of climbing spots, with Bearclaw Spire and Strawberry Hill Buttress each about 0.1 mile away and First Creek Slabs about 0.2 mile away. The area is best approached as a group of crags rather than a single route. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to climb here. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 80°F with lows near 56°F, and October highs around 75°F with lows near 50°F. That station sits about 865 feet lower than the canyon, so temperatures on the cliffs run cooler. The canyon's routes are all trad, with 11 routes ranging from 5.6 to 5.10d. The Chicken Ranch is 5.6, Slip of the Arrow is 5.9-, and The Undertone is 5.10d. Red Rock Canyon Campground is about 6.4 miles away for an overnight base.
