Slippery Peak and its apron are climbing in Nevada's Rainbow Mountain Wilderness, part of the BLM's Red Rock/Sloan Field Office. The peak sits within designated wilderness, and the area is managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The climbing here is all traditional, with five routes that span from 5.7 to 5.10. The Red and the Black is the easiest at 5.7, and Plate Tectonics is the hardest at 5.10a. First ascents date back to 1978 for The Red and the Black and to 2019 for Plate Tectonics. Strawberry Hill Buttress and First Creek Canyon are both about 0.3 miles away, and Bearclaw Spire is about 0.4 miles off. For an overnight base, Red Rock Canyon Campground is about 6.7 miles away.
