Brownstone Wall is a climbing area in Nevada's Rainbow Mountain Wilderness, managed by the Bureau of Land Management's Red Rock/Sloan Field Office. It sits within the wilderness, about 0.2 miles from The Rainbow Wall and Juniper Canyon, and 0.3 miles from Jet Stream Wall and Challenger Wall, so it is part of a cluster of climbing areas in this corner of the Red Rock/Sloan district. The climbing here is all trad, with 26 routes ranging from 5.4 to 5.12a. The easiest is Birthday Cake at 5.4, and the hardest is Time's Up at 5.12a. The median grade is 5.10a/b, so the area suits climbers looking for a range of traditional routes rather than a single grade. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 79°F with lows near 52°F, while winter highs sit in the mid-40s. That station sits about 1,600 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the wall run cooler. Pine Creek Trail and N Oak Creek Canyon are both within a mile for a hike. Red Rock Canyon Campground is about 6.4 miles away.
