Steamboat Ditch Trail is a moderate out-and-back hike in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, within the Carson Ranger District. The trail is about 8.7 miles long, with a total elevation gain of about 32 feet, so it's a low-rise route that starts and ends at nearly the same level. The high point is about 4934 feet, and the low point is about 4893 feet. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically May and September, when typical averages from a nearby weather station run around 72°F and 82°F, with lows in the mid-40s.
