Church Ridge is a bouldering area in the Carson Ranger District of Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, about 7 miles from Reno. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Somersett Boulders just 0.2 miles away and The Ice Cubes at 0.3 miles, so it works well as a stop on a day spent exploring the surrounding crags. The area has six bouldering routes, all rated from V1 to V6 on the V scale. The easiest is Alien Egg at V1, and the hardest is Twin Cracks Right at V6. The routes are grouped around the ridge, with Mogul Cliffs about half a mile away. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Reno show May highs around 72°F and October highs around 68°F, while July and August average in the low 90s.
