Red House Flume Trail is a 4.4-mile out-and-back hike in Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park, within the Carson Ranger District of Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The trail rises from about 7,360 feet to about 7,428 feet, a total gain of 68 feet, and is rated moderate. The state manages the land through its State Park and Recreation agency. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Incline Village show July and August highs around 76°F with lows near 50°F, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. The trail is short and low, so plan on about an hour or two. The NFD 041 Trail and the Snapdragon Trail, both mountain biking routes, start about 0.3 miles away. Climbers can head to Sand Harbor, about 2.2 miles off, and Washoe Lake State Park Campground is about 6.1 miles away.
