Goni Road is a hard hike on Bureau of Land Management land in Nevada's Sierra Front Field Office, about 2.8 miles long and roughly 5.6 miles round trip. The route rises from about 5,579 feet to about 6,825 feet, a total gain of about 2,823 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 1.7 miles in, with a grade of about 19 percent. The trip takes about 3.5 hours. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Virginia City weather station, which sits about 485 feet lower than the high point, show July highs around 84°F and lows near 62°F, with only about one wet day a month from June through September. Winter brings highs in the low 40s and regular snow days from December through February. Climbers will find Key Hole Boulders, Tsunami Boulder and Boulder B/Bat Cave about a mile away. Washoe Lake State Park Campground is about 3.5 miles off.
