Ophir Grade is a moderate hike on Bureau of Land Management land in Nevada, within the Sierra Front Field Office. The route is a 9.5-mile out-and-back, with a one-way elevation gain of 444 feet, starting at about 6,684 feet and reaching a high point of about 6,701 feet. The steepest stretch comes around the 2.7-mile mark, where the grade reaches about 9 percent. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall stand out. Typical averages from the nearby Virginia City weather station, at a similar elevation, put May highs around 64°F and September highs around 74°F, while July highs reach about 84°F and winter brings highs near 40°F with several snowy days a month. Other trails sit close by, including Adt - Nevada - S - Seg 9 just 0.1 mile away and Goni Road about 2 miles off. Climbers can find Key Hole Boulders and Tsunami Boulder roughly 3 miles away. Washoe Lake State Park Campground is about 5 miles away.
