Falls Canyon is a moderate out-and-back hike in the Santa Rosa Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 4 miles long, with a one-way gain of about 1,000 feet, taking you from roughly 5,100 feet to about 6,176 feet. The trail has a natural surface, and horses are allowed. Bikes are not. That makes it a practical route for a horseback outing or a car-carrying trip, with the option to ride in on horseback. The most comfortable stretch for a visit is late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 73°F in May and 83°F in September, while July and August average in the low 90s. Horse Canyon Trail is less than a mile away, and Summit Trail is about 2 miles off. Mcconnell Creek and Singas Creek Trail are both within about 4.5 miles.
