Abel Creek is an easy out-and-back hike on natural surface in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, within the Santa Rosa Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is about a mile long, with a one-way gain of about 750 feet, taking you from roughly 6,545 feet to about 7,296 feet. The trail is open from June through October. Horses are allowed, and bikes are not. The route is short enough to fit easily into a longer day. Stone House Creek Trail lies about 1.5 miles away, and Summit Trail and Singas Creek Trail are both about 2.4 miles off. Big Cottonwood Creek, a paddling spot, is about 6.5 miles away.
