Main Wall - West End is a sport climbing area in the Rocky Mountain Ranger District of Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest in Montana, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Dentist Area about 0.1 mile away and Blow-Hard Wall and Blackleaf Canyon each about 0.2 mile off. The area has eight sport routes, with grades ranging from 5.9 to 5.12a. The easiest are Fly Boys and Climbign 101 at 5.9, and the hardest is Bodisattva at 5.12a. The median grade is 5.10b. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Gibson Dam show July highs around 79°F with lows near 45°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. That station sits about 1,600 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. Cow Creek and Muddy Creek are hikes within about a mile and a half.
