Hidden Area is a bouldering area on Bureau of Land Management land in the Butte Field Office of Montana, about 10 miles from the town of Butte. It sits among several other climbing spots, including Hidden Boulder, Warm Up Ridge Area and Senile Gully, all within about a tenth of a mile. The climbing here is all bouldering, with four routes ranging from V0 to V4 on the V scale. Men on the Moon is the easiest at V0, and Cool Aid is the hardest at V4, with Beltar and Bungholeo in between. The area is a compact cluster of boulders rather than a long route, so it works well as a short session or a stop on the way to other climbing in the Butte Field Office. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Butte show July highs around 81°F with lows near 46°F, while winter highs stay around freezing. That station sits about 600 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures at the climbing area run a little cooler. For more time on the land, Lower Rader Creek Road offers mountain biking about 2 miles away, and Toll Mountain Campground is about 4 miles off. Pigeon Creek Campground and Big Pipestone Creek, a paddling spot, are both within about 7 miles.
