Lower Pipestone Forest is a climbing area in the Butte Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management in Montana. It sits within the wider BLM land managed by the Butte Field Office, and the nearest town is Butte, about 11 miles away. The area is a bouldering spot with four routes, all rated on the V scale. Mastodon Crack is V0, Mastodon Slab is V1, Lil Snek is V4, and Citradelic is V8-9. The first ascent of Lil Snek was by Carson Langmack in March 2020. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Butte airport weather station show July highs around 81°F and lows near 46°F. The station sits about 400 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures here run slightly cooler. BLM 16, a mountain biking route, is just 0.2 miles away, and BLM 20 is 0.4 miles off.
