Frog Rock is a climbing area in the Bozeman Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana, managed by the Forest Service. It sits within a cluster of climbing and hiking spots, with the Main Area and East Crags Trail both about 0.1 mile away. The area has three sport routes, all rated between 5.8 and 5.11b/c. Proto-Pacific is the easiest at 5.8, and Panthalassa and Tethys are both 5.11, with Tethys the hardest at 5.11b/c. The routes were first climbed by Scott Salzer, Mark McCollum and Erik Johnson, and others. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Bozeman show July highs around 82°F with lows near 52°F, while winter brings highs in the low 30s and regular snow days from November through March.
