Crocodile Rock is a climbing area in the Bozeman Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing and biking spots, with Overhangatang Boulders just 0.1 mile away and Practice Rock about a mile off. The area's climbing is centered on trad routes, with grades ranging from 5.7 to 5.12a, and the most notable are Crocodile Crack at 5.9 and Croc's Nose at 5.12a. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Bozeman run from highs around 72°F in June to about 82°F in July, and snow is common from November through April. That station sits about 1,000 feet below the rock, so temperatures up high run cooler. Moser Highlands Road and Canyon View Road, both about half a mile away, offer mountain biking. For an overnight stay, the Fr 3159 Old Site Off Moser Road 6213 106 campground is roughly 0.7 mile from the rock.
