Miller Creek is a moderate hike of about 5.3 miles on the Libby Ranger District of Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a one-way climb of about 1,259 feet, from a low point of roughly 3,312 feet to a high of about 4,616 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Libby show July and August highs around 78°F with lows near 40°F and only about six wet days a month. That station sits roughly 1,200 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. Bikes are allowed on the natural-surface trail. Teeters Peak and North Fork Miller Creek are both within about a mile and a half, and Howard Lake Campground is about 2.7 miles away.
