Hagadore Lake is an easy hike of about 0.7 miles on the Fortine Ranger District of Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is short and gentle, with a low of about 3,343 feet and a high of about 3,379 feet, and it's a natural-surface route that works well for hikers, horses and mountain bikes. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Fortine weather station run from highs in the low 70s in June to around 84 degrees in July, with lows in the low 50s. Winter is cold, with January highs near 30 degrees and lows around 18. The trail sits close to several other places to explore. Martin Lake and Murphy Lake are both mountain biking destinations within a mile, North Dickey Lake has camping about 1.4 miles away, and the Stillwater River is about 6.5 miles off for paddling.
