Williams is a moderate out-and-back hike in Montana's Kootenai National Forest, on the Fortine Ranger District. The trail is 4 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 1,064 feet, carrying you from a low point of about 5,535 feet to a high of about 6,601 feet. The trail is open seasonally, from July 1 to October 31, and it's rated moderate. Its natural surface works for hikers, horses and bikes, so you can plan a ride or a pack trip. Several other trails lie close by. Deep Creek is about 1.7 miles away and Krinklehorn about 1.9 miles. North Fork Deep Creek is about 2.4 miles off, and Huntsberger Lake is about 3.2 miles away. For an overnight stay, Grave Creek Campground is about 6.5 miles from the trail.
