Edith Lake is a hard hike of about 10.8 miles in the Townsend Ranger District of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest in Montana. The route is an out-and-back that gains about 650 feet, with the low point at 7,273 feet and the high at 9,038 feet. It's a natural-surface trail and allows both horses and bikes. The trail is managed by the Forest Service. Plan for a long, steady climb over natural ground rather than a short outing. Nearby, Holloway is about 2.3 miles away and West Fork Cabin Gulch is about 3.1 miles off. Skidway Campground, about 4.8 miles away, and Rillway Cabin, about 5.8 miles away, offer places to stay.
