Dickey Lake Overlook is an easy, short out-and-back hike of about 0.6 miles in the Fortine Ranger District of Montana's Kootenai National Forest. The trail climbs about 36 feet from a low point of 3,114 feet to a high point of 3,145 feet, and it is paved and accessible. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 84°F in July and 72°F in September, with fewer wet days than the rest of the year. The station sits about 145 feet lower than the overlook, so temperatures at the top run slightly cooler. The overlook is managed by the Forest Service, and the trail is open from May 1 through October 31. Parking is at Dickey Lake Accessible Overlook TH 94. North Dickey Lake campground is about 0.1 mile away, and the Marston/dickey mountain biking route is about 0.2 mile away. South Dickey Lake campground is about 1.4 miles off, and the Stillwater River paddling route is about 5.6 miles away.
