Upper Salem Pond Road is a short, easy mountain biking route in Massachusetts, about 2.4 miles from North Reading. The climb is an out-and-back of roughly 1.6 miles, with a total elevation gain of about 92 feet. The road rises from a low point of about 125 feet to a high of about 166 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.34 miles in, with a grade of about 6 percent. The most comfortable months for riding are typically late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Middleton run from highs around 67°F in May to about 81°F in July, with September easing back to around 73°F. Several other mountain biking routes sit close by. Root Ball and the Yellow Diamond Trail are each about 0.3 miles away, and the Acorn Trail is about half a mile off.
