Foundation Run is a short, easy green circle trail in Maryland's rolling terrain, set within the Loch Raven Reservoir area. It's a gentle out-and-back route that makes an ideal introduction to singletrack riding for beginners. The trail's low climb of about 91 feet one way and its brief length of roughly 0.36 miles let riders build confidence on narrow trail through Maryland's hardwood forests. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Cylburn show May highs around 73°F and October highs around 66°F, while July averages climb to about 86°F. Dogs are allowed on the trail as long as they stay leashed. The Merryman's Mill Trail and its Powerline hike lie about 0.1 mile away, and The Backyard is about 0.3 mile off. For fishing, the Loch Raven Reservoir access is about 1.5 miles away.
