Orange Trail is a short, out-and-back fire road in Maryland, about half a mile long, that runs within the Loch Raven Reservoir area. Baltimore City owns it, and it was built for emergency access to the woods. Recreational users ride and walk it, so it works for both hiking and mountain biking. The route starts at a low point of about 239 feet and climbs to about 332 feet, a total gain of 78 feet, over roughly a mile of road. It's a quick, low-effort outing. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Cylburn show May highs around 73°F and October highs around 66°F, while July averages about 86°F. The Blue Trail and Merryman's Mill Trail both sit about 0.3 miles away, and Fire Road is about 0.4 miles off. For fishing, Loch Raven Reservoir's Dulaney Valley access is about 2 miles away.
