Wahlstrom Loop is a 4.1-mile loop hike in Idaho's Sawtooth National Forest, within the Minidoka Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is rated moderate. The loop starts at about 7,200 feet and climbs to roughly 7,300 feet before descending back to the starting point. The steepest stretch comes early, around 0.76 miles in, with a grade of about 18 percent. The total elevation gain and loss are each about 1,240 feet. Several other destinations sit close by. Trail Canyon is about 0.1 mile away and Pike Mountain about 0.3 mile. Lower Penstemon and Upper Penstemon Campground are both within a mile.
