Silver Creek Loop is a 15.1-mile out-and-back hike in Idaho's Sawtooth National Recreation Area, part of the Sawtooth National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route starts at about 6,696 feet, rising to a high point of 8,188 feet. The total climb is 3,909 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 2.9 miles in, where the grade reaches 38 percent. The hike is rated expert, and the trip takes about seven hours. The route is rolling, with the steepest section near the start. The loop is a long day, so plan for time on the trail and a full return. Nearby, Baker Creek is half a mile away, and Easley Gulch Aka Curlies and Newman Creek are both within about a mile and a half. For an overnight stay, Wood River Campground sits about 5.4 miles off.
