Clifton Creek is a 4.4-mile out-and-back hike in Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest, within the Westside Ranger District. The trail rises from about 5,917 feet to about 6,613 feet, a climb of 691 feet, and is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is open year-round. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows both horses and bikes, so it works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. The climb is spread across the full length of the route, with the high point near the top of the out-and-back. Crystal Summit South Mink Con lies just 0.2 miles away, and the South Fork of Mink Creek Trail is about 1.4 miles off. For an overnight stay, Mink Creek Group Site Campground is roughly 2.6 miles away. Climbers can head to WaveWall, about 8.3 miles from the trail.
