Rocky Knoll is a 3-mile out-and-back hike in Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest, within the Westside Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route rises about 130 feet from a low point of roughly 6,436 feet to a high of about 7,115 feet. The trail is rated moderate, and it's a natural-surface route. Horses and bikes are both allowed, so the hike works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. Three other hikes sit about 1.3 miles away, including Birch Creek, Midnight Creek and Pole Canyon. For an overnight stay, Mink Creek Group Site Campground is about 5.4 miles off.
