Bloomington Lake is an easy hike of about 1.2 miles on a natural-surface trail in the Montpelier Ranger District of Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is an out-and-back that gains about 65 feet in elevation, from a low of about 8,190 feet to a high of about 8,289 feet. The trail is open to both horses and bikes, so riders and pack animals can join the walk. It's a short, low-effort outing that works well as a quick stop or a way to stretch your legs before or after another destination in the area. Bloom Boulders, a climbing area, sits about half a mile away. Willow Flat and the Midland Trail are both within about 2 miles, and Willow Flat Campground is about 2.2 miles off.
