South Fork Bloomington is a moderate out-and-back hike in Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest, within the Montpelier Ranger District. The trail is about 5 miles long, with an elevation gain of roughly 800 feet, taking you from a low point of about 7,400 feet to a high of about 8,200 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is open year-round. The route is natural-surfaced and allows both horses and bikes, so it works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. The trailhead is the Bloomington Lake Hiking Trail Trailhead, with parking at the Bloomington Lake Hiking Trail. The Midland Trail and Worm Lake both lie within a mile of the route. Climbers can head to Bloomington Lake and Bloom Boulders, about 2.5 miles away. For an overnight stay, Paris Springs Campground is about 3.6 miles off.
