Jake Mountain Trail is a 4-mile out-and-back hike in the Blue Ridge Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests in northern Georgia, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises from about 1,500 feet to about 1,800 feet, with the steepest stretch around 2.4 miles in at a grade of about 13%. The climb totals about 410 feet of elevation gain. The trail is rated hard and is a natural surface. Bikes and horses are both allowed. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Jasper put October highs around 69°F with lows near 50°F, and May highs around 75°F, while July averages about 85°F. Several other routes start close by. FDR-83 Bull Mountain Trail is about half a mile away, and the JAKE/BULL CONNECTOR TRAIL is about 1.5 miles off. Paddlers can reach the Etowah River about 2.6 miles away, and Cochran Falls is about 3 miles away.
