Cochran Falls is a climbing area in the Blue Ridge Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests in north Georgia, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of hiking and paddling destinations, with several trails and waterways within a short drive. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Jasper put October highs around 69°F with lows near 50°F, while April runs about 68°F by day and 47°F at night. That station sits roughly 700 feet lower than the falls, so temperatures at the climbing area tend to run a little cooler. The closest trails are the Cove Trail / Firebreak Trail, about a mile away, and Cochran Creek Falls, about 1.6 miles off. Paddlers can reach Amicalola Creek and the Etowah River, both within about 8 miles.
