Cooper Creek Trail is an easy hike in northern Georgia, set within the Coopers Creek Wildlife Management Area in the Blue Ridge Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests. The State Department of Natural Resources manages the land. The trail is an out-and-back route of about 0.86 miles, rising roughly 57 feet from its low point of 2,719 feet to a high of 2,802 feet. It's a short, gentle outing, well suited to a quick stop before or after exploring the surrounding area. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Blairsville show October highs around 70°F with lows near 43°F, and May highs around 76°F. That station sits about 850 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. Nearby, Shope Gap and Hickory Knob Trail are both within a mile.
