South Side is a bouldering area in Connecticut, about 1.8 miles from West Redding. It sits among several other climbing spots, with Big Easy Block and Queen Boulder each about 0.1 mile away, and East Side at a similar distance. The area is a cluster of boulders rather than a single route, and the climbing here is all bouldering, with grades ranging from V0-1 to V3-4. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Danbury run from highs around 69°F in May to about 74°F in September, with July the warmest at around 82°F. The routes here are all bouldering, and the grade range is V0-1 to V3-4. Dumpling Drop, Little Things and Uncle Al are all V0-1, while Among Great Men is V2-3 and Legend of Da Bat is V3-4. The Split Rock Trail and The Lariat are both hikes within about half a mile.
