Kettletown State Park is a Connecticut state park about 1.2 miles from the town of Cedarhurst, and it works as a climbing area as well as a base for hiking. The park is close to several trails, which makes it easy to build a day around more than one outing. The park's climbing is all bouldering, and the seven routes listed run from V2- up to V7. The Warm-up V2 is the easiest, and the Roman's Roof Traverse is the hardest. For hikers, the Zoar Trail starts just 0.3 miles away, and the Crest Trail and Pomperaug Trail are both about 0.7 miles off. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 75°F. Summer is warm, with July and August highs near 82°F. Webb Mountain Park is a climbing area about 3.2 miles away. The Pomperaug River offers canoeing roughly 7.9 miles out, and Hop Brook Lake Recreation Area, about 9.6 miles away, has camping.
