Queen Boulder is a bouldering area in Connecticut, about 1.8 miles from West Redding. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Umpawaug Wall and Colossus Boulder both about 0.1 mile away, and West Side at a similar distance. The area is a compact, close-to-town destination for boulderers. The climbing here is all bouldering, with five routes on the V0 to V3-4 scale. Pawn's Parade is the easiest at V0, and Bishop in Blue is the hardest at V3-4. Queen's Glory and Knight's Gambit fall in between. The routes are all boulders, so no rope is needed. Summer is the warmest stretch for a visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Danbury run to highs around 82°F in July, with September still near 74°F. Winters are cold, with January highs around 36°F. The Split Rock Trail and The Lariat are both within a mile for a walk after climbing. Paddlers can head to the Still River, about 4.8 miles away.
