Left End is a climbing area in Connecticut, about a mile from the town of Greystone. It sits right next to The Center and Right End, which make it easy to pair with those other crags. The climbing here is traditional, with six routes spread across a range from 5.5 to 5.10a. Five are trad and one is top rope. Among the named routes are Does Your Dog Bite? at 5.5 and Bitten at 5.10a. Willie Wonka's Superb Stone Escalator is another 5.6, and Tracker and Kody is a 5.5. Late spring and early fall tend to be the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Burlington run from highs around 70°F in May to 75°F in September, with July the warmest at about 84°F. Whitestone Cliffs Trail is the closest hike, about 0.4 miles away, and the Northfield Brook Lake Group Shelters are about 5 miles off for an overnight stay. Paddlers can find the Naugatuck River about 5 miles away and the Quinnipiac River about 9 miles away.
