Main Slab is a climbing area in Connecticut, about 0.7 miles from the town of Greystone. It sits right next to two other climbing areas, Upper Tier and Right Side, both roughly 0.1 miles away, making it easy to pair with them on a single visit. The area has 29 routes, including 20 trad climbs and 9 top-ropes, with grades ranging from 5.4 to 5.10. Among the trad routes are Carilli rt. 1 at 5.4, Going Vertical at 5.5 and Romancing the Stone at 5.6. The top-ropes include Lichen It Hot at 5.8 and Vertical Limit Direct at 5.10. For a change from climbing, the Whitestone Cliffs Trail starts about 0.3 miles away. The Hancock Brook Trail is 1.7 miles off, and Northfield Brook Lake Group Shelters offers camping about 5 miles away. Paddlers can head to the Naugatuck River, roughly 5 miles from the slab.
