Yellow Trail is a short, easy hike in Hartman Park in Connecticut, about half a mile long and rising just 36 feet from its low point of 201 feet to a high of 242 feet. The route is a point-to-point path, and the climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 6% grade near the start. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Norwich show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 76°F, while July and August climb into the mid-80s. The trail sits close to several other routes. The Red Trail, Hartman is about 0.1 mile away, and the Heritage Trail and Park Road are each about half a mile off. Paddlers can reach the East Branch Eightmile River, roughly 1.8 miles away.
