White Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut's Selden Creek area, managed by a non-governmental organization. The route is 0.86 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 134 feet, and it is a point-to-point trail rather than a loop. The climb is gentle overall, but the steepest stretch comes at about 0.59 miles in, where the grade reaches 27 percent. The trail starts at an elevation of 204 feet and reaches a high point of 247 feet. It is a quick outing, estimated to take about half an hour, and it pairs easily with other trails in the area. The Blue Trail lies just 0.1 mile away, and the Yellow Trail and Ravine Trail are each about 0.7 mile off. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Groton show May highs around 66°F and September highs around 74°F, while July peaks near 81°F. Pickwick's Preserve, a climbing area, is about 1.7 miles away, and the Eightmile River offers canoeing roughly 5.3 miles from the trail.
