Seven Ponds Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, set on Town Open Space on the Paine Property. The route is about a mile long, with a total elevation gain of 93 feet, and it is rated easy. The trail is a point-to-point walk, and the climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.7 miles in. The high point is 554 feet, and the route ends a little lower than it begins, with a total loss of 215 feet. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Danbury show May highs around 72°F and September highs around 75°F, with September also seeing the fewest wet days of the year. The trail sits close to several other routes. Oak Hill Trail is about 0.1 mile away, and Paine Barn Trail and Maple Road Trail are each about 0.2 mile off. For a change of pace, the Western Coastal Slope climbing area is about 2.8 miles away.
