Oak Hill Trail is a short loop in Connecticut's town open space on the Paine Property, about a mile long and with only about 60 feet of elevation gain. The loop starts at around 580 feet and peaks near 620 feet, and it's rated easy, making it a quick outing for anyone already exploring the area. The route has a steepest stretch of about 14% at roughly half a mile in, and it ends with a bit more descent than climb. With an estimated half hour on foot, it works well as a warm-up or a break between longer hikes. Late spring and early fall tend to be the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Danbury weather station run from highs around 72°F in May to about 75°F in September, while July highs reach the mid-80s and winter brings regular snow days. Seven Ponds Trail is about a tenth of a mile away and Laurel Ledges Trail about 0.2 miles, so it's easy to string several of these short walks together. The Western Coastal Slope climbing area is about 2.7 miles off, and paddlers can reach the Mill River roughly 4.3 miles away.
