Orange Trail is a short, easy loop in Connecticut, about 0.65 miles long and roughly flat, with a high point of 318 feet and a low of 309 feet. It sits about 1.7 miles from the town of North End. The trail is a loop, and the climb is minimal. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.59 miles in, with a grade of about 5 percent. The route is rated easy, and the elevation gain is zero. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Meriden run to highs around 70°F in May and 75°F in September, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. The White Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Metacomet Loop Trail is about 1.2 miles off. Climbers can head to Main Cliff, about 0.9 mile away, or Winter Wall, about 1.1 miles away.
