Northrop Road Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 2 miles from the town of Bethany. The trail is 0.5 miles long, and the one-way climb is 224 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 0.38 miles in. The route is back-loaded, so the climb comes later in the hike. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Mt Carmel show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, while July peaks near 85°F. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. Several other trails start close by.
