Hazen Red Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 0.4 miles long and rising from roughly 250 feet to 343 feet. The trail is a point-to-point route, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.2 miles in, with a 7% grade. The nearest town is Cedar Lake, about half a mile away. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 70°F in May and 75°F in September, while July highs average about 84°F and January highs sit near 37°F. The trail makes an easy pairing with other short walks in the area. Hazen Yellow Trail is about 0.1 mile away and Hazen Blue Trail about 0.3 mile.
