North Pattaconk Trail is an easy hike of about 1.2 miles in Connecticut, roughly 1.6 miles from West Haddam. It is a point-to-point route, short and low, with a high point of about 363 feet and a low of about 318 feet, so the climb is minimal. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. That station sits about 260 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the trail may run slightly cooler. Bikes and horses are not allowed on this route. The Cockaponset Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the South Pattaconk Trail and Old Forest Trail are both within a mile. For climbing, Pad Crag lies about 1.7 miles off.
