Yellow-White Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 0.7 miles from the town of Cedar Lake. The trail is 0.84 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 108 feet and a total loss of 110 feet, so it works well as a quick outing or a warm-up before a longer walk. The route is a point-to-point trail, and the climb is back-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.66 miles in. The highest point is 471 feet, and the lowest is 353 feet. Bikes and horses are both allowed. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Meriden run to highs around 70°F in May and 75°F in September, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. The Yellow Trail and White Trail both start about 0.3 miles away, and the South Pattaconk Trail is about 0.7 miles off. Climbers can find Pad Crag roughly 3 miles away.
