Grobe Green Gadabout Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 1.7 miles from the town of Straitsville. The trail is 0.34 miles long, with a one-way climb of about 105 feet from a starting elevation of 641 feet to a high point of 670 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.12 miles in, with a grade of about 6 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mt Carmel show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, while July averages about 85°F. That station sits roughly 490 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. Several other trails start close by.
